Battle Balancing, Future of the Riverbane Coven


New update is out, it ups the physical attack of our two spellcaster characters, and the defense of all three characters. The final battle against Vym has also been reworked, hopefully making it so that his Thunder won't just absolutely wreck every character and is only used if the overall level of the party is at an average of 17 or higher.

Someone on the RPGM forums asked about the future of the Riverbane Coven stories, so I'll go ahead and quote here what I said there, just so everything is perfectly clear:

Part of me wants to continue the stories, but it'll probably be a while before I do. This was made with lite, and if I did another game I'd really rather have the full version which is out of my price range at this moment so that I can do some better world-building than I was able to in Chalice of Eternity. The map and event limitations really hindered that for me. As someone who grew up playing Pokemon and speaking to literally everyone, lore, world building, and story building have always been really important to me. I'm also definitely still woefully new to RPGMaker, so that also affects things.

If I don't use RPGMaker to continue the stories, I may try and do a comic/light novel, with some light character redesigns so that I'm not just ripping off the RPGM designs. I definitely don't think I'll be using any other engine, partially because I only feel comfortable with Ren'py, which is a visual novel engine, which doesn't suit the action-oriented story at all. So it'll be either RPGM or a comic. I have the idea for the next installment and maybe a prequel, but I also have other projects that I'm working on/a part of, and I believe that stretching yourself too thin makes it easier for the story to suffer, which nobody wants.
